Walking is the best way to experience the essence of Tuscany, its rolling hills, vineyards, valley bathed in golden sunlight, olive trees and of course our cousine, the red wine and the warm welcoming of Tuscan people.
3 NIGTHS - 2 WALKING DAYS
The tour is made in collaboration with Cicloposse (Tour operator) and includes:
- 3 nigths at villa Poggiano in room/suite double occupancy with buffet breakfast, service, wi fi connection and welcome drink before dinner
- 2 walking days tour* (See below the program) with walk professional guide, van service, lunch
- 1 dinner in a tipical trattoria in town
Are not included transfer from Villa Poggiano to the town and 2 free dinner, the Villa Poggiano staff will be glad to suggest good restaurants in town.

- Montepulciano to Monticchiello distance 8 km
- Monticchiello to Pienza 6 km
- Departure from the villa.
- Our four-and-a-half-mile walk sets out immediately on quiet dirt roads with sweeping views across the soft undulating hills, all the way to the enchanting hilltown of Monticchiello. Almost no signs of the 20th century have made their way past the walls of this medieval village, where we will have a caffé at a tiny bar overlooking the valley. After we'll walk down and cross vineyards, farmland and the grazing pastures of the sheep whose milk makes one of the most famous products from this area: pecorino cheese. Let's stop to have a light lunch in one organic pecorino cheese factory and have cheese tasting at Il Casale. After lunch and rest is time to climb the ramparts for a bird's-eye view of the route to Pienza. You will have time to explore the village considered a Renaissance jewel and the first example of an urban planning project, realized by Rossellino. Back to hotel by van

- Pienza to San Quirico distance 10 km
- San quirico to Bagno vignoni 6 km
- short transfer to Pienza by van from villa Poggiano, it takes 15 minutes.
- In Pienza we start the walk from Santa Caterina and Pieve di corsignano, after we pass through the little church Madonna di vita Lete, a known postcard of the area. Get to the town of San Quirico: a pristine hill town whose nearly deserted streets are paved with terra cotta. Before taking off please have a quick visit to the formal gardens called Orti Leonini. Light lunch in town. The walk follows a broad dirt road that weaves in and out of farmlands, wheat fields and live oak woods. Our destination is Bagno Vignoni, a tiny village that exists solely because of its thermal hot springs, famed since Roman times. Just imagine: the main town square is a thermal swimming pool! Once arrive at hotel you can either take a swim in the 51-degree Celsius waters of the bathing establishment, or just dip your feet in the natural hot water which emerges from the ground and flows down the hill.
