Bagno Vignoni and Vignoni Alto

Not too far from the villa is Bagno Vignoni, a place I always recommend to my guests. Bagno Vignoni is a little gem, well-known for its hot springs and the unique design of the village. The thermal waters of Bagno Vignoni have been used since Roman times. At the heart of the village is the “Hot Springs Square”, which is a rectangular pool of sixteenth-century origin, containing thermal waters from the subterranean aquifer of volcanic origins.

But few know about “Vignoni Alto”, which is located 4 km up the hill from the baths of Bagno Vignoni. Vignoni alto is a tiny village that is completely restored, with gardens, flowers, a huge citadel and a Romanesque chapel. When you arrive you have the impression that here time has stopped. There is also an incredible view of the Val d’Orcia and Mount Amiata.
