Discovery the italian formal garden of Val d’Orcia

Between the travellers of our territory there are many lovers of the nature and the gardens. The spring is the ideal period to visit them because the flowers are to the maximum of the splendor and the nature wake uo after a long winter.

One of themost  beautiful and famous garden, than is located at only  10km from Villa Poggiano, is the Garden of La foce  (www.lafoce.com). An Italian garden designed by the architet Cecil Pinset  between 1925 and 1939.

The garden is divided in geometric “rooms” from boxwood hedges and it is found in front of the historic villa,belongs by the Origo family. A path in the forest joins the garden to the cemetery off the family and it is considered  one of the best creations of the architect Pinset. It is because of hime the realization of the most famous road with the cypresses trees,wich is  today one of the symbol of Tuscany.

Other examples of Italian gardens are in Pienza, the  garden of Pope Pius IIn  with an incredibile view on the Val d’ Orcia and the mount Amiata(www.palazzopiccolomini.it)
The garden has a square form and is subdivided in geometric forms from hedges of boxwood , inside there is a garden roses. At the end  the garden is closed by a wall with three great windows  with view of the val’d ` Orcia valley.

An other little one but delicious  garden is in  San Quirico d’Orcia  and it is called Horti Leonini (www.comunesanquirico.it), it is a  Renaissance garden from  DiomedeLions
