Bagno Vignoni and Vignoni Alto
Not too far from the villa which I always recommend to see to my guests is Bagno Vignoni, a little village which is a gem and already famous in the world for the hot springs and for the unique design of the village.
The thermal waters of Bagno Vignoni have been used since Roman times. At the heart of the village is the “Square of sources”, namely a rectangular tank, of sixteenth-century origin, which contains the original source of water that comes from the subterranean aquifer of volcanic origins.
But is still a secret at the most “Vignoni Alto” which is located uphill 4 km from the bath of Bagno Vignoni. Vignoni alto is a tiny village completely restored, with gardens, flowers, a huge Rocca and a Romanic chapel.
When you arrive here you have the impression that here the time has stopped and there is an incredible view of the Val d’Orcia and the Mount Amiata.
